FROM TRAINING
Survey technology used to establish training needs
A client of ours wanted to establish an in-house training centre at his offices
for all his staff. We wanted to find out exactly what training courses we should
implement and also what benefits each strata of the business felt they would
achieve from training.
Using our survey technology, we interviewed all the staff. Most
interestingly, from the labourers on the building sites, we found that:
- 67% wanted more knowledge, ability.
- 22% knowledge in specific area, like code 14 licence, etc.
- 11% did not know.
Although they realised they had a problem with language, and that literacy
would have to be addressed, their ultimate goal for training was more knowledge
and an increase in their abilities.
